Colour week III: Monday DIY

Colours ... they just make life brighter, don't they? I'm rearranging not only my workspace, but the complete flat. So I decided to bring more colours in my bedroom by creating a new, colourful lampshade.

Farben - sie machen das Leben einfach freundlicher und heller, oder? Ich richte nicht nur meinen Arbeitsplatz meinen Arbeitsplatz neu ein, sondern die ganze Wohnung. Also hat auch mein Schlafzimmer neue Farben bekommen, in Form eines neuen, farbigen Lampenschirms.

All you need is coloured paper, cellotape and a ring/ torus to attach the paper. Recently, I got a lot of color color paragons from the color compartment of my do-it-yourself store. I decided to use it for the lampshade; of course you can use any paper you want. In case you should be able to look at the lampshade from the bottom, make sure that the back side of the paragons is white (without logo).

Alles, was Ihr braucht, ist farbiges Papier, Klebstreifen und einen Ring, an dem das Papier befestigt wird. Ich hatte kürzlich Farbmuster aus der Farbabteilung von bauhaus geholt. Ich habe beschlossen, sie für einen Lampenschirm zu verwenden; natürlich kann man jede Art von farbigem Papier verwenden. Falls Ihr später von unten in den Lampenschirm schauen könnt, achtet darauf, dass die Rückseite der Farbmuster weiß ist (ohne Logo).

Cut the paper in small pieces; check, how many you need around your torus and for the length you want. I decided to make my lampshade not symmetrical but to have colour stripes with different lengths.

Schneidet das Papier in kleine Stücke; testet, wie viele ihr rund um Euren Ring herum braucht und für die gewünschte Länge. Ich habe beschlossen, die Farbstreifen nicht symmetrisch zu machen, sie haben eine unterschiedliche Länge.

Put the colour-pieces on the cellotape; create stripes with the colour arrangement and lenght you want. Attach the stripes with celloband to the ring. Fix the stripes at their bottom from behind so that they have the same spacing at the bottom as on top. Attach the lampshade with some wire to your lamp holder. Enjoy all the colours!

Klebt die farbigen Papier auf das Klebeband; macht Streifen mit den Farbarrangements und der Länge, wie Ihr sie wollt. Klebt die Streifen mit Klebstreifen an den Ring und fixiert sie unten in einem gleichmäßigen Abstand. Befestigt den Lampenschirm mit Draht oder Schnur an der Lampenfassung - und freut Euch über die Farben!
