Thursday photo workshop, part 18: landscapes

I'm a city girl, so landscapes mean travelling and wanderlust and longing for me. Of course this influences the way I'm taking pictures - trying to express exactly those feelings when choosing the image details.

Ich lebe in der Stadt, deshalb bedeuten Landschaften für mich Reisen und Fernweh und Sehnsucht. Und natürlich fließt das in meine Bildgestaltung ein, weil ich versuche, genau diese Gefühle einzufangen, wenn ich den Bildausschnitt wähle.

The picture above follows the classical composition rules by using the 'rule of thirds' (more about it next week). It's nice and due to the rule of thirds calm and balanced, but I'm looking for a different expression. ~ Das Bild oben folgt den klassischen Regeln der Bildgestaltung, indem es die 'Dreierregel' verwendet (mehr darüber nächste Woche). Es ist nett und aufgrund der Dreierregel-Komposition ruhig und ausgeglichen, aber ich wollte etwas anderes damit ausdrücken.

It's exactly the same situation, but just with moving the horizon down, the feeling of capaciousness arises. ~ Es ist exakt dieselbe Situation, aber nur indem ich den Horizont weit nach unten gerückt habe, entsteht ein Gefühl von Weite.

Of course sky always is a good means to express endlessness, but large even areas like in the picture on the right do the same. ~ Himmel ist natürlich immer ein gutes Mittel, um Grenzenlosigkeit auszudrücken, aber größe, gleichförmige Flächen machen dasselbe.

The same do diagonals that expand from the lower left to the upper right ... ~ dasselbe bewirken Diagonalen, die von links unten nach rechts oben führen ...

... and repeating patterns in similar colors (best with a blur in the foreground). ~ ... and sich wiederholende Muster in ähnlichen Farben (am besten mit einer Unschärfe im Vordergrund).
