Travel log: Venice

Well, you'll see a lot of Venice here in the next weeks, because we took so many photos of wonderful places there. We arrived at sunset, took a bus to the city and then our first vaporetto to the Lido (all along the Canale Grande). These (above) are the stops, Hopper-esk in the night, and pretty empty for a city that is overflowing with tourists during day time. This is how Venice greeted us at night, quiet and beautiful.
______

Will be waiting eagerly to see more! I can't imagine arriving at night time...it's been 15 years since I was there and unfortunately I wasn't into taking photos. Oh how wonderful it would be to capture that city now! So you will be my eyes now...show us more! On another note...I just watched a documentary on global warming and what is happening with our glaciers and the impact they will have in the future. With what Venice has to go through today, I can't even imagine what will happen to it in the future. I hope they are preparing in some way...just like NYC needs to prepare...

Neid! ;-)
I wish I would have been there as well!
Tanti saluti, Roberto!

Dear Robin,
those concerns were one of the reasons why I wanted to show Venice to my son. As long as it lasts ...

Ganz wunderbare, stimmige Bilder.
Christine
