Travel log: Brighton, again
There were lots of surprises in Brighton. F. e. an "Indian" palace from 1787 in the middle of the city, the "Royal Pavillon". It was built as a seaside retreat for George, Prince of Wales, but ended as a hospital for Indian soldiers during the First World War. For us, it was kind of unreal, like a short trip to India.

In Brighton gab es eine Menge Überraschungen, und das hier war eine davon: ein "indischer" Palast mitten in der Stadt, der "Royal Pavillon". Er war ursprünglich an 1787 als Rückzugsort am Strand für George, den damaligen Prinz von Wales, erbaut worden, endete aber im ersten Weltkrieg als Hospital für Tausende von indischen Soldaten. Heute hat er etwas Irreales, wie ein Minitrip nach Indien - zum Wegträumen.
