These are paper lanterns, hanging on the roof of one of my most favourite Cafés in Cologne, located in the chocolate museum (no joke, it's real). They were remains of an event of Saturday night, 'lights of Cologne'. And yesterday, I drove by in the moment, they started to throw the lanterns from the roof top. Great photo opportunity, and since it was windy, the lanterns looked like living bubbles, rolling away.

Diese Papierlaternen hängen am Dach eines meiner Lieblingscafés in Köln, dem Café im Schokoladenmuseum (kein Witz, das gibt es wirklich). Sie waren Überbleibsel des 'Kölner Lichter'-Festes vom Samstagabend, und ich bin gestern genau zu dem Zeitpunkt daran vorbeigefahren, als sie vom Dach geworfen wurden. Eine wunderbare Fotogelegenheit, und da es windig war, sahen die Laternen aus wie lebendige Bälle, die davonrollen wollten.

Look at the one on the top right which is trying to escape and made it to the other side of the railing?
