Nanga Parbat

The Taliban killed a group of mountaineers at the base camp of the Nanga Parbat last night. I feel completely sick. I have been there a few years ago, just two hours away. It's not only the violence that makes me literally sick.You can't believe how peaceful this place is. It's breathtaking beautiful and awe-inspiring. It's so much larger than anything you can imagine. Sometimes I just can't understand how people are able to do what they do.

Die Taliban haben heute Nacht eine Gruppe von Bergsteigern im Basislager des Nanga Parbat getötet. Mir ist einfach nur schlecht. Ich war vor ein paar Jahren dort, nur ca. 2 Stunden davon entfernt. Es ist nicht nur die Gewalt, die mich krank macht. Ihr könnt Euch nicht vorstellen, wie friedvoll dieser Ort ist, atemberaubend schön und wirklich ehrfurchtgebietend. Viel größer als irgendetwas, das man sich vorstellen kann. Manchmal kann ich einfach nicht verstehen, wie Menschen das tun können, was sie tun.
