DIY deco shelves

Doing more photography and styling is a good excuse to collect more beautiful things. So when Hege offered me a guest post and suggested a DIY, I came up with the idea of hanging shelves for my collections. I did two different versions, and to see the very easy DIY with wire hangers, just have a look at Hege's beautiful blog.

Da ich immer mehr mit Fotografie und Styling mache, habe ich eine gute Ausrede dafür, mehr schöne Dinge zu sammeln. Als Hege mir angeboten hatte, Gastbloggerin bei ihr zu sein und ein DIY vorgeschlagen hat, habe ich beschlossen, einfache Hängeregale für meine Sammlungen zu machen. Ich habe mir zwei Versionen ausgedacht, und die supereinfache DIY-Variante mit Drahtkleiderbügeln könnt Ihr Euch auf Heges wunderschönem Blog anschauen.

For my version here, I bought poplar plywood sheets in 64 x 15/ resp. 12 x 0,5 cm (for not too heavy objects, otherwise choose a thicker board) and some black rope. I wrapped the rope around the board, fixed it with a knot, made a loose sling (for hanging it) and fixed everything with duct tape.

Für diese Version hier habe ich mir im Baumarkt Pappel-Multiplexbretter zuschneiden lassen, 0,5 cm dick (für leichte Objekte, sonst braucht Ihr ein stärkeres Brett), und 64 x 15 bzw. 12 cm sowie schwarze Schnur. Ich habe die Schnur einmal um das Brett gewickelt und mit einem Knoten befestigt, dann noch einmal eine lose Schlinge darum herumgelegt (für die Aufhängung), und anschließend alles mit schwarzem Textilklebeband fixiert.

Then I wrapped the ends to a Chinese knot around the hanging part of the rope and let the ends hang loose. Do the same for the other side, just mirrored, and hang the shelf with two nails onto the wall. That's it!

Dann habe ich einen chinesischen Schmuckknoten um den Teil der Schnur herumgewickelt, der zur Aufhängung dient, und die Enden lose hängen lassen. Dasselbe noch einmal für die andere Seite, allerdings spiegelverkehrt, und dann einfach an zwei Nägeln in der Wand aufgehängt, das ist alles!
