DIY: Transfer technique

After my wall DIY, Robin asked about the way I transferred the text lines. When working with fabric, I'm always using Matte Medium, which is fine for paper or wood, too. You need your motif as a laserprint (or copy from a copy shop) which has to be mirrored, because you are going tom place it face down onto your fabric.

Nach meinem Wand-DIY fragte Robin, wie ich den Text übertragen hätte.  Wenn es um Stofftransfer geht, verwende ich immer Matte Medium, das aber auch ausgezeichnet auf Papier oder Holz funktioniert. Euer Motiv braucht Ihr als Laserausdruck oder Kopie vom Copyshhop, und zwar gespiegelt, weil Ihr es nachher umgekehrt auf den Stoff legt.

 

Apply generously both onto the paper and the fabric, and rub the paper onto the fabric. Let dry completely. ~ Großzügig sowohl auf das Papier als auch auf den Stoff auftragen und mit einem Falzbein oder etwas Ähnlichem kräftig anreiben. Dann komplett trocknen lassen.

Next, take a wet sponge and carefully remove the soaked paper. If you'd rub too much, you'll remove part of the print, but I am using this intentionally to get a vintage effect. ~ Dann einen nassen Schwamm nehmen und das durchgefeuchtete Papier vorsichtig abrubbeln. Wenn man zu fest rubbelt, lösen sich auch Teile des Drucks, aber das mache ich teilweise absichtlich, um einen Vintageffekt zu erhalten.
