hand print tutorial

Robin, this is for you: Foam sheets is a material I really don't like, but the best for all stamps with soft lines and forms. I wanted to create a counterpart to my first hand, so I draw the same form onto a form sheet. Cut it out with scissors - the only trick is to use a larger one and to make long cuts, thus you'll get smoother edges. Glue it onto a wooden brick and let dry. Afterwards, you can carve the lines into your form with any pen with a round tip, f. e. a ballpoint pen or a not-too-sharp lead pencil. That's all.
_______
The important part is about which color you're using for stamping. In the penultimate picture, you can see on the left the new hand stamp with ink from a stamp pad - you can see the lines clearly and get a continuous, half-transparent print. On the right side you can see the print made with acrylic paint, what I usually use. The paint runs a bit into the lines, so you get darker and lighter areas and random 'special effects' with the paint, that's always amazing.

Super Tipp.
