Thursday photo workshop, part 6: light and blur lens trick

I'm still working on a DIY for a simple softbox with artificial light, but my life loops some loops these days, so I'm sorry that you'll have to wait a bit for that. For today, I just have a fun project - and only for DSLRs.
_____

First, you choose aperture, ISO and exposure time. Use the AV mode, take a picture as usual and you'll see the exposure and ISO shown below your picture. Go to M/ manual mode and adjust the same values. Then take off your lense. Your camera won't work in auto mode after removing the lense, that's why you have to work in manual mode.
_____

Move your lense slowly until you'll get a partially sharp but blurry picture. The more you cant the lens, the more blur and incidence of light you'll get. Just play around. It might sound difficult, but is real fun!
_____

And this was the setting: A box with tea bags that complemented the colors of the flowers, backlight and a reflector to bounce the light back. In case you'll test this technique, leave a link with your pictures in your comment!
_____

Sandra
